My new job

Just finished a conference call; will do a quick update before i knock out..

Things have finally settled down after 2 months in my new job. I came to realise that time really heals pain. I am moving on. The emptiness and void is being filled, slowly, but surely. I'm starting to feel more and more comfortable around my new friends. Although right now there no one whom I'm close to, but I recognise that this is something that takes time.

Every company has it's own culture, so does Jab. I'm not entirely sure what Jab's culture is yet. There's some stuff that I like and stuff that I don't like. Right now it's too early to tell if I will flourish in this place.

I started my Monday salad lunch routine. It's a brave thing to do (haha), having to turn down lunch kakis and explaning my choice. It's pretty annoying to get comments from various people, but I have learnt to accept them as unavoidable. In fact at GF, even after doing the routine with Shirley for 2 years, we still get occational comments.

Also, I bought flowers for my female colleagues on Tuesday. I did that a lot in GF, and finally I got about doing that, for the first time, in Jab. It was a very pleasant experience; more than half of them were truely delighted by the bright and cheerful geberas.

This weekend, if time permits, I will do some catch up blogging on the home front. The hamsters are really doing very well! Lynn said "happy hamsters happy home!".

Other than 20 geberas, I also bought a stalk of hydrangeas for my self. I gave out 18 stalks of geberas to 9 colleagues, and kept 2 stalks for myself. View of my vase from inside my room:

I repotted my "Zhu" from GF into the green pot from Shirley, and got a new plant from Far East Floral:

My new plant. Hopefully it will last:

"5 reasons why I love you"

Had wanted to do some posting of Lynn, but was too lazy over the weekend. Here's a posting related Mother's Day.

This year I did not celebrate Mother's Day with my mum, nor my MIL. As for myself, Lynn's too young to initate, nor am I really interested.

The Friday before actual Mother's Day, Lynn's CC prepared a program for Mummies to attend. It's in the afternoon (330 to 5pm), so if I were to go I have to take leave/time off, which I didn't want to. So I asked the teacher if WK's mum can attend instead. So in the end, WK's mum went. I can't get much detail from either grandma and child, only that there's singing and food prepared by the kids.

On Monday morning, I saw that the CC decorated the entrance with this poster, done by the kids. Lynn said she drew/painted the greenish house with a purple heart (below the red heart below the letter O).

On Monday night, Lynn gave me a Mother's Day card. Earlier on, she told me that she need a pic of me, for making Mother's Day card. So when she gave me the card on Monday, I just said thank you (and stuff like it's very nice), but actually I didn't even bother to read what's written on it.

Over last weekend, I finally read the wordings on the read heart. It says "5 reasons why I love you". I was quite amused by her choices of reasons. I asked if teacher got them to all write the same things, or each children wrote their own. She said that the children wrote their own. I probe further on the first one which is "because you are pretty" and she said that all the children wrote that. Haha, I think some of it came from the children themselves, but most of them came from the teacher.

I think "sweet" and "good night kiss" are from Lynn. I can't figure out why "helpful", and I wonder if she really notice/what's her impression of me "clean the house"!

Que Sera Sera

Saw a lot of postings on FB about mothers day. Relationship between mothers and daughters are more, what's the correct word, complicated and intriguing (than mom-n-son's). I wonder what the future holds for my darling, if she will be a swinging single or will she have lots of children. Que sera sera...
