Parent meet teacher (K2, June)

The first PMT for this year was yesterday. I remembered writing a lot about the first PMT, then lesser and lesser on the subsequent ones. By now, nothing the teachers said surprise us anymore.

The compliments are the same, that she's well behaved and is a fast learner, and has no problem with the curriculum. And her weaknesses are the same too, that she doesn't do that well in show and tell, that she doesn't elaborate, and she's not good at dramatizing. In another words, she lacks public speaking skills, confidence and creativity.

I'm not too worried. I don't expect perfection. And I believe most skills are learnable, including public speaking skills, leading skills and creating skills. On the other hand, some things are "born with", such as leadership and creativity. An illustration of what I mean: I not a natural born leader, I do not have the charisma of a persuasive leader. But I am a manager of a small team, so I learn and I'm able to lead to a reasonable extend. I'm not born with the gift of eloquence, but if I need to present/speak to convince others, I have learnt to be thoroughly prepared for such occasion and I have learnt to speak with confidence and clarity. So Lynn will always have the abilities that she's born with, and she can learn whatever she needs to know.

While going through the pile of work that she completed for this team, I saw a book written by lynn. The whole book consist of 9 pages. It has a story line of a typical children's story. I passed it to WK, and he read it in detail, and he absolutely loved it. Here is the story:

Backlogs

Finally, I cleared the backlog! After more than half a year, I finally published the last 4 postings on our Perth trip in last October. Took me close to 2 hours. Better late than never! Brought back good memories, of how well rested I was during the trip. It was during this trip that WK gave his "OK" to my decision to quit and to take a break.

My next family trip will be in September, to Redang!

Day 6 morning, we visited Kings Park. Part of the park was closed that day for a political event, but we managed to enjoy some greens and took some beautiful pics:

Perth Farm stay (2011) - Day 5 - 26 Oct

We left the farm on day5, for Perth city. On our way, we visited Mammoth Cave, one of the limestone caves along Margaret river. It is beautiful, but we were not able to capture the beauty with our camera. Here's some photos:
