A different kind of Malacca trip - part 1
This is actually the super outstanding post which I didn't manage to start writing, which causes the huge backlog of other posts. So I shall now try a different strategy, which is to this by part.
We went Malacca on 8th Aug (Thurs), which is Hari Raya holiday. It was a long weekend week, with National day on 9th Aug. It was a 3 days trip; we came back on Sat, not the last day of the holidays, which is our usual practice to avoid jam.
In our previous trips, we leave home at 6am. This time round, WK insisted that we leave at 5am. I didn't understand why, until I experience the jam at the check point. The difference was that it was the holiday day itself ; in the past, we usually go one day before the start of the long holiday.
Still it was tough on me. I'm inclined to say that I will not want to repeat this kind of timing again. No matter whether we set off at 5 or 6, a long trip always means that I will have to put the house in order and complete the packing the night before. It is impossible to complete this task before 12 midnight, because the kids and the family don't go to bed any earlier than 10. That night, I was about to go to bed at slightly after 12, when Lynn (who went to bed at about 9pm) came to me and said that she had woken up and was ready for setting off!! She was extremely excited about the trip because Chloe was coming with us. Then the next morning, i had planned to sleep to about 430 or 445, with the intention to cheat on the set off time, but Lynn again came to me at 4am! That morning, I was in super bad temper, which happens when I suffer from lack of sleep. So when we we finally cleared the customs at 6+, the 4 of us (except the driver) slept all the way to Malacca!
I will write more, not only about myself, but also the kids (Lynn and Chloe), and other details and thoughts about the trip in my coming postings.

National day colours!
I only found these few photos relating to National day this year. Usually in the past, I will have some pics of the deco around the neighbourhood, or the fireworks.
My department, which is forever growing
My accountant, Sze Yeng
My sweetie. It is not that she doesn't have white shorts, but the instruction from school was "red T with PE shorts". I didn't read the instruction carefully, so I gave Lynn a white shorts initially, which she declined. On our way to school that morning, I was gleefully counting the number of kids (and the sotong parents) who went in white shorts! In fact, one girl was in white skirt, ha!!

Backlog
There is so much backlog that I have accumulated, that I'm lost as to how to start. And I'm not sure that I can finish all of them this morning either..
So I shall start off with an activity that I have not done for long time already, which is buy flowers from Far East.
