Yesterday, Lynn posted on FB that she finished her "Gross Stitch", cos she read "C" on the packaging as "G" . Ha! I couldn't stop laughing.
Yesterday I brought her shopping at SKP for her birthday "entitlement" - I promised to let her spend $20 on any items that she pick. In the end, she choose a toy (a rubbery urchin with a glow ball in it) and a box of glow sticks. I also asked her to buy a pack of balloons and a No. 7 candle (for her birthday party). Total cost is $12, and she agreed to use the reminding $8 at popular.
Then we went NTUC and got some halloween stuff. Here's a preview of the deco with christmas light (it's really quite spooky with no other lights on):

Gardens by the Bay
A colleague from Scotland came for a 3 weeks stint. He loves flowers and plants, so I organised a department outing to Gardens by the Bay on 5th Oct.
Other than myself and Lynn, the rest have not been there (in the domes). All of them like the outing a lot.
Here's a group pic from Michael's camera:
Here's some pic that I took; slightly different from those I took during my first trip.
It rained heavy at dawn, as was drizzling very lightly when we reached.
Black centipede with yellow spots by their sides. How many can you spot?
Here are the pics from the cloud forest dome.
Lynn said that these look like snake baring their fangs.
We were the only ones prepared for the cool temperature.
The kids' favourite; insect catching plants
Lynn's the only one on the floor. The projection onto the floor makes the show interesting to kids.
The sun was out when we left at noon. It was a good outing.

We did not spend a lot of time in the flower dome, cos the kids were hungry.

Baby Panda, and Red Panda in Chengdu
Here's another backlog posting, about my Cheng Du trip after Mid Autumn. Most of my work trips are not fun. This is the first fun one, cos I got to see pandas! Lots of them! I'm lazy to write (nothing much to write about), so here are the pics of the extremely cute baby pandas. And red panda too!
Cheng Du's old name is "Shu Zhou"
Panda scaptures everywhere. These 2 are at the hotel lobby:
We visited the Panda conservatory on Wed afternoon
The pandas are quite dirty in "person"
Here's one in a cute sleeping position
There are many baby pandas in the nursery room. In this pic, the staff member is cleaning the baby panda.
Here are a few sleepy ones on the bed
This one is in the incubator.
Here's another nursery room. These baby pandas are really really cute when they sleep
The one on the top right corner keeps flipping around. In this pic, it is on it's back
Then it succeed in flipping onto its tummy
Now it is backside towards us!
Here's a close up shot of the one in the front
Then we visited the red panda. The red panda is actually the "Shi Fu" in Kungfu panda cartoon. One of it was walking up the wooden stairs!
Visitors are advised not to touch or provoke the red panda, but this guy ignored the warning.
Coming closer
It stopped at a corner, and pooed!
2 close up after it is done with it's business!
Here's a pic of myself and Alice, my project, thus my travel partner.
