九寨沟 - April 2014

This is one of the rare occasion where during a biz trip I extended to visit a place of interest in China. During my Chengdu trip in April, we went 九寨沟 for 3 days. I was happy on this trip, because it was with a group that I felt very comfortable with (Thooiling, Alice, Siew Ching and Maggie).

九寨沟 is touted to have different kind of views in different sessions. For example, in it's peak session in autum, the whole place will be fill with red/orange leaves. In Winter, the waterfall be frozen. Both views are spectacular. In summary, it is suppose of be full of water and flowers. So I guess we went there during the super off-peak, which is mid-spring.

In spring, the ponds and river are starting to fill up with water, so we still get to see the 五彩池, but not as awesome as summary. We get to see greens, but not much flowers. The thing that we did not expect but experienced was snowing. Apperently, it snowed heavily on Thursday, so when we reached on Friday, on our way to and at 黄龙 (the highest point at 九寨沟), we get a lot of snow scenary.   Then on Saturday morning, it snowed while we were at 九寨沟.

Here's a selectio of photos.

The snow mountain scene on our way to 黄龙

五彩池 at 黄龙.  Only blue colour as there's not much greenary yet.  If there's more plants, the pond will have colours like purple and dark green.

Our hotel, Intercontinental, lobby

Tulips and other flowers at the entrance of 九寨沟.

It snowed here at 长海, our first stop at 九寨沟

There is also a 五彩池 at 九寨沟

May birthdays

May's coming to an end. Going to get this posted while listerning in to the guys from Taiwan and China argue and scrub the process over conf call.

Joc's 40 birthday.  Couldn't do an elaborated celebration with her, due to work committment.  But I think she had a great time spent with Maggie over her birthday weekend.  Lili, myself and Ginny bought a watch for her.  Lili ask Joc to give as $2 each (superstition, watch = )

Soooooo looking forward to our (Lili, me and Joc) trip to Taipei this weekend!!!!

KW's birthday, he was born on Labour day 42 years ago. Like Shirley said before, we have legally married partner at home, but spend more time with work partner at work. He and Tricia, are my work partners, with love-hate relationship.

Here he is trying to take a photo of the team standing opposite him, testing his new Sony Z2.

Working from home

Working from home today, to spend some time with sweetie who skip school as she is not well. We set up a home office, so that while I worked on my emails, she did some supplimentary work (from assessment books).  Then we got tired, and we did some handicraft.

3 months behind

This is yet the longest break in my blogging, with no update in the month of March and April.  I doubt I can catch up soon.  Here's a few pictures, and one to two lines on stuff that took place in 2nd part of Feb and in March.

(1) 14 Feb, last day of lunar new year, office party

(2) 25 Feb, a sketch

(3) Lynn fell down the stairs at school, when rushing to the canteen for recess. She suffered a cut on her head, bled quite a bit. I only reached home at 8pm that night, and took her to Dr Goh for the "most expensive" and yet "ugliest" hair wash, ha!

6th March, after being treated by Dr Goh:

9th March, see how big the orginal wound was:

19th March, healing fast:

(4) Family outhing to River Safari on 8th March:

(5) Daddy hamster died on 13th March.  We buried it in a shallow grave on the morning of 14th before school:

(6) Chloe's birthday celebration on 15 March, at the function room, with her cousins, friends, and lots of ponies:

(7) It's the March school holiday week, and I was to go a biz trip. Despite the busy schedule, took half day to spend with Lynn, at Nex:

(8) Juin's family lunch, 29th March.  Hmm, I've not seen any pictures of the day, and I've not seen their album taking in Taiwan a few years back either!  Selfies:
