Rapunzel vs Dora

Mabel came to our home for a week's stay. She brought along a DVD - Rapunzel. She watched it with Lynn yesterday night. When we went to bed last night, I asked Lynn "What happened to rapunzel in the end?" WK heard and he said "she became Dora!"

Talk non stop

Whenever colleagues or friends ask "How's ur gal" nowadays, I always answer "ok lor.. from the moment she open her eyes to look at me in the morning, to the moment she falls asleep beside me every night, she talks non stop....". Haha..I'm not really complaining lah.. I know that it will stop eventually, and when that day comes, the change will be permanent. I don't remember the time when I was a talkative little girl who bring joy to my mum; I only remember the sulky teenager who "10 ask,9 never answer" who brings only agony to my mum..

Anyway, the chattering gets pretty bad in the confine space of a car. So on Sunday, I decided to play a new game. We took turns to say things that we saw along the way, like cars, road signs, trees, clouds, etc. We spoke in english. On the way back, I decided to do the mandarin version, and get her to translate. For example I would say "qi4 che1", she will say "car". It was quite entertaining. WK and myself had a good laugh when I saw the street lamps (lamp post) and said "lu4 deng1", and she replied "road lights!"....

Visitors from Malaysia

During the past few days, my house hosted 10 persons. That's because WK's 5th Aunt (from Malaysia) came visiting with her family, and Mabel came too as her school holidays started. The house is not only full of people, but also full of chatter and laughter. It's a nice feeling to have family gathering of such scale once in a while. It was tiring but fun. Hope they slept well despite squeezing in the rooms. Hope they enjoyed their trip!

TPY kid

Last Sunday, 22 May, WK left home for the airport at 3pm. He went for a week's biz trip, so he came back on Fri night. I'm fortunate that WK's mum stay with me, so I can still leave for work early morning and work OT if needed to. However, whenever WK goes for his biz trip, I still feel "lost"..

At about 530pm, I took Lynn to the library. As we walk, I experienced the "lost" feeling. As we walk, in our casual t-shirt suitable for neighbourhood, I wonder if we will stay here for a long long time, and that Lynn will grow up a TPY kid. I use to move around a lot when I was younger; I was never a "whatever town" kid. I wonder when will Lynn be independent enough to roam TPY alone (cos TPY is vibrant and safe place), so that I can "nuay" at home, without having to feel "lost" bring her around places without WK. It's a strange feeling, but I can't help it..

After borrowing books from the library, we went to the nearby foodcourt to pack dinner (WK's mum had plans to dine out, so we only pack ours). We passed by the drink store first. Lynn wanted to buy ribena, but I say wait. When we talked, I think the cashier aunty heard our conversation. Then we went to the other end of the foodcourt, order zi cha, and sat down to wait. Then I took out $2, told Lynn to walk back to the drink stall, to buy the ribena. She refused at first, but I persuaded and threatened (no ribena!!). Eventually she went. The cashier aunty saw her, and probably helped her to complete the task (by asking if she wants to buy ribena, took the money, gave her change, gave her a cup with ice and straw, and the ribena of course).

GE 2011

GE's been over for quite sometime already. I wanted to blog about it, but was busy. This is the first GE that I cast vote. Its a GE that I followed very very closly. I have never felt so concern, so engaged in the past, probably because I don't have to vote.

A lot of opinion had been aired, a lot of debate had taken place, the GE's over and done, and many changes have taken place since. I just want to say, document here in my blog, that I'm proud to had participated engrossingly in this whole decision making of the country. I had casted my vote with both head and hearts in it. At this point, I will only say that I will also try to do the best for my country. JIA YOU, PM Lee, Mr Low TK, all MPs, all cabinent ministers!!!

Science Centre on Vesak day 2011

The month of May is coming to an end. The series of long weekend has ended, but due to term break at the Hokkien Huay Kuan where Lynn's attending S&D and art on Sat, we will have 4 Sats (starting yesterday) which we need to plan for activties. This weekend, WK's 5th aunt's family (a total of 4) are here for visit. I need to work whole of yesterday, so I did not join them for jalan (WK brought them to MBS). Will join them later (after getting some work done in office this morning).

Here's some pics of Science Centre visit on Vesak day holiday. We went for the Shark exhibitant, watched a 3D shark show, and the water park.
Walking around first, sizing up which feature is more fun:

End of long weekends

Today is vesak day, so its the last of 4 long weekends in a row. These few long weekends were very enjoyable. I was lazy to blog. So now, while Lynn's watching TV, let me just jot some stuff..

The first long weekend was good friday. We went Siloso Beach Resort. WK and myself went there (without Lynn) in March; we enjoyed it very much, so we brought Lynn there for good friday holidays. Here's some photos:

(The 2nd long weekend was labour day, which I have posted some pics in my earlier post)

The 3rd long weekend was Monday after polling day. Lynn had school that day, while WK and myself did a few activities together on this day. Firstly, we went to my dad's house, cos WK wanted to fix up the IPAD 2 for him. The IPAD 2 is a gift from WK to my dad. I feel very lucky and happy that the 2 guys in life have common interest. I'm very greatly to WK that he treats my dad well.

Finally, today is the last of a series of long weekend. I'm really going to miss this feeling.. We went Science Centre for the Planet Shark exhibition, watch 3D shark movie, and then played at the water works park. The photos are in my handphone, so I will post them next time.

Long weekend (Labour Day)

Shopping at furniture mall (I'm so excited, cos we are going to do mini renovation at our place). Lynn loves to wear her vietnam costume; the mask is on display at one of the shops:

Art and craft at home (60% done by mummy, 40% done by Lynn). Seashells were from Sentosa Siloso beach, picked during the Good Friday long weekend.:
