Impromptu office party-东至

This morning I reached office at about 820. I just sat down, and I heard Alice talking aloud at her cubicle "今天冬至我想吃汤圆!". Then Karen replied her "好啊, lunch time 去NTUC 买我煮给你们吃!". And that's how an office event was instantly created!

The lunch group was super big today -12 of us. After our lunch we went NTuc and picked up 4 packs of 汤圆 (60 pcs in all) with fillings. Got ginger and brown sugar, but couldn't get pandan leave.

I'm not sure what time Karen started cooking. I finished my work at about 315 and went to help her. She boils the 姜汤
and the 汤圆 in many batches cos there's only a teapot that she can use on the induction cooker in the pantry (she thought that there was a bigger pot). We finished at 4pm, and held the mini gathering in our conf room to savour Karen's special efforts. Taste is not fantastic, but it warms both our stomachs and hearts.
