Saturday evenings

I'm sure I've "complained" about weekends on this blog in the past. Weekends are sometimes unrested, or unfulfilled, or both. This is because 2 days are just too short to complete all housework, to engage in fun and interesting activties with kiddo, to go shopping, to exercise, and to rest; these few needs and wants require the same resource - time and energy.

These few Sat evenings, I had a good time. It started with 3 weeks ago, when we went NEX for a short shopping session after our dinner at our fav porridge place in Serangoon. WK wanted to get Lynn a digital watch, and I wanted to buy a handbag. We went separate ways, I selected my bag, in peace, and then joined them to do the final selection out of the few they shortlisted.

I realised that I should engage my 2 darlings to dedicate some time to activities that I enjoy. I used to prioritize the chores and Lynn's "kiddy" activities over my own, and feel envious of WK who have lots of time for himself.

On the next Sat (2 weeks ago), Wk initiated an outing to Riverview/Clark Quay area. We went Copthorne Hotel for dinner, and then took the River Taxi to Clark Quay then to Merlion Park (Fullerton Hotel). The night and "lights" view of our CBD area was really beautiful.

Last Sat night, we went Vivocity. This is a shopping centre that I like because while I shop, the 2 of them can go to the 2nd floor play ground, or the pet shop or the water play area on the rooftop. I got some great stuff that I need at Diaso.

During these outhings Lynn always throw tantrums, insisting that we eat at certain place or food. These tantrums tinted the otherwise perfect time. At Vivo, I explained to her how these outhings brightened my weekends and warned her to watch her behaviour. I talked loudly for WK to hear how I appreciate these Sats night-out.

I'm glad that I learn how to have more time "for myself".  This is different from having more time "to myself", which is more difficult to achieve within the percious 48-hours of weekend.

Here's some photos taken at Riverview and on the river-taxi.
