A little observation - Chloe

Lynn has 7 cousins.  I have 3 cousins who are still teenagers.  And WK has some cousins are who also still teenagers.  Then he has couins who already have young kids (Lynn's distant cousins).

So there are many kids around me.  In an extended family, there are bound to be observations, comparisons, and opinions, about each kid, and their parents!  I think I got an overdose of that in Malacca these few days..

Anyway, the above is just an prologue of this post, nothing much to do with my little observation.

Chloe is 4.  It was until recently that she came to stay overnight at my place that I notice this little trait of hers.  I have a box which contains cookery toys, such as food, plates, pot, utensils, etc.  That box is a favourite of the kids; they (Chloe and Brayden) always open up that box whenever they come over.  When they leave, it's usually either the parent or the DH who pack the toys back.  Almost every time, I have to repack it cos the box is a bit small for all the contents, so it has to be packed very systematically for all the contents to fit, else some of the stuff will have to be dumped into the other boxes.  Just yesterday night, I questioned Lynn why she left the rice cooking outside the box, and her reply was there is no more space for the rice cooker..

Coming back to Chloe, that day, she was playing alone, while she waited for Lynn to come back from her weekend class.  After playing, she packed up by herself, and I was very pleasantly surprised that she arranged the toys in such an organised way!  For example, she put all the food stuff (fish, vege, cake, etc) into the smaller "food" box, which must be the first item to fit into the bigger box.  She has left the sauces (chilli, tomato, etc) aside as she doesn't know where they should go (they should go into the food box too).  Then she stacked the plates (20+) from the biggest at the bottom to the smallest at the top.  The cups were placed as a group together.  And the rest of the items were not categorised.  I then helped her to place each group of items back into the box.

I think it is an interesting obervation, because I have noticed all along that Mabel (already 9) and Lynn (7) were both either not able or not bother to pack this box properly.  Somethings I wonder if that means a messing home when Lynn has one of her own in the future! Ha, maybe I think too much, but it's still interesting, how kids are all different from each other.  Well done little sweetie Chloe!

41

I realised that I have nothing much to write about WK's 41 BD celebration  at home.  I am the most boring and most unromantic wife around I think..  Perhaps he is the most boring hubby around too.  Not healthy for a good relationship, but, maybe that's how most couples grow old together? Or maybe not. Whatever, still wishing my dear Mr. Yap happy birthday and a good year ahead.

Where else can the cake be from, but the Icing Room??

I only asked for 4 big candles; Miss Pinky asked for a small one too, but I guess the cashier didn't hear her.
"Happy birthday to me... ee.., happy birthday to me!"
