A little observation - Chloe

Lynn has 7 cousins.  I have 3 cousins who are still teenagers.  And WK has some cousins are who also still teenagers.  Then he has couins who already have young kids (Lynn's distant cousins).

So there are many kids around me.  In an extended family, there are bound to be observations, comparisons, and opinions, about each kid, and their parents!  I think I got an overdose of that in Malacca these few days..

Anyway, the above is just an prologue of this post, nothing much to do with my little observation.

Chloe is 4.  It was until recently that she came to stay overnight at my place that I notice this little trait of hers.  I have a box which contains cookery toys, such as food, plates, pot, utensils, etc.  That box is a favourite of the kids; they (Chloe and Brayden) always open up that box whenever they come over.  When they leave, it's usually either the parent or the DH who pack the toys back.  Almost every time, I have to repack it cos the box is a bit small for all the contents, so it has to be packed very systematically for all the contents to fit, else some of the stuff will have to be dumped into the other boxes.  Just yesterday night, I questioned Lynn why she left the rice cooking outside the box, and her reply was there is no more space for the rice cooker..

Coming back to Chloe, that day, she was playing alone, while she waited for Lynn to come back from her weekend class.  After playing, she packed up by herself, and I was very pleasantly surprised that she arranged the toys in such an organised way!  For example, she put all the food stuff (fish, vege, cake, etc) into the smaller "food" box, which must be the first item to fit into the bigger box.  She has left the sauces (chilli, tomato, etc) aside as she doesn't know where they should go (they should go into the food box too).  Then she stacked the plates (20+) from the biggest at the bottom to the smallest at the top.  The cups were placed as a group together.  And the rest of the items were not categorised.  I then helped her to place each group of items back into the box.

I think it is an interesting obervation, because I have noticed all along that Mabel (already 9) and Lynn (7) were both either not able or not bother to pack this box properly.  Somethings I wonder if that means a messing home when Lynn has one of her own in the future! Ha, maybe I think too much, but it's still interesting, how kids are all different from each other.  Well done little sweetie Chloe!

Ha frankly, I have problem sorting the toys into your toy boxes too. You are right that the environment of the house does affect a person when he's grown up. I think all my siblings grown up in a home that's not very particular about tidiness, while you, if influenced by your mum, must be a very tidy person. Anyway I'm quite impressed by the way you pack your things, I can really see a difference of the things passed down by you compared to the things by my sis. I try to be as neat as you and QY (another amazing lady) but I think I can only improve 50%. No matter how hard I fold my clothes, they can never be as tidy as yours nor QY's.
Back to Chloe, she's good in organising her stuff, she's a good helper in school and at home. Her teachers had also complimented her when we attended her half yearly meet-the-parents session. I'm glad that she could sleepover at your place now, Lynn is a good role model to her, she copies what Lynn does nowadays.
