I scrolled through my blog to take stock of the status of my updates, and realised that I have not posted much about 2014. Since my 3-part story about my big 4, the only other long entry was about the jiu-zhai-guo trip. This morning, I have an hour, not sure how much I will complete.
Give "me" a break
Got to admit, I'm a tense and uptight person, and not as good at multi-tasking as I like to be. So I always have a long to-do list. Some items on the to-do list, such as go for my yearly dental, go for a full body check up, research (on the internet) about keen pain (yah, starting, getting old), are there on the "permanently" because I procrastinate. Most of the weekends, I spend on accompanlishing smaller and more enjoyable activities, like spending quality time with Lynn, preparing for my piano exam, tidying up the house, blogging, etc. So I end up alway "beating" upself up in my mind (or heart), for not completing the whole to-do list, esp the long outstanding items.
About 2 months back, I decided to give myself "a break". I made a list of important task, and decide to give them a longer time frame to be complete. One of the less important" activity that gave way, so that I have more time, is blogging.
So what did I accomplish in this last 2 months? Not much, but I feel real good. The feel good came about from the change of mindset. The changes are:
(i) Not being so harsh, critical of myself
(ii) Simplifying the endless chores, like ignoring clutter or laundry
(iii) Acknowledge and prioritize imporant task
OK, I decided that I shall post this first. I shall write about various events in this period in separate postings.
