I had expected lots of photos for CNY, thus in my earlier post I had titled it CNY 2016 (1). Since so much had happened since 初五, I have consolidated February's activities into 4 postings.
(I) The Yap family kept up with it's yearly tradition of taking group photo during CNY reunion. This is probably the 5th or 6th. I'm so looking forward to next year, when baby Claris will make her first appearance. I have always wanted to ask if Juin and PH want a 3rd kid, but I think it is best to hold back my question first. Having been through the lost of a dear family member so recently, I wish everyone in the Yap family good health, so that we can have many more family photos.
May's home, 31th Jan 2016:
WK's mum giving out "big" ang bao, in the form of SG50 note pack. She collected about 12, just enough for grandchildren and children; the sons and daughters in laws didn't get one.
Selfies and wefies
(II) Company lunch on 3rd Feb. This is the first time I attended the company's CNY lunch, at our own canteen. Just 2 simple photos for remembrance.
(III) Actual CNY Reunion at Grandma's house on 7th Feb. [While writing this, I realised that once again, Yin and I did not bother to take photo for our Chan family reunion on 5th Feb (Friday) at Mingxiang. So I shall just post a screenshot of what I wrote on FB about going to Mingxiang's new venue at Jurong east. For the record, Lynn read my post and commented: So drama!
Again, the Lim family is not keen on taking group photo, or in fact any photo at all. I took a picture of a piping hot, absolutely gorgeous smelling sotong ball when I stole it from the kitchen!
And of course Wee San's very nice deco this year. This turn out to be the last year that we celebrated CNY with Grandma.
OK, let me explain this super weird looking photo! This was on 初六. Although Dad had always been anti-social, and avoided participating in most festivals and traditions, in recent years he made it a point to visit Grandma during CNY as he know that Grandma's health had been deteriorating. He will go on the "off-peak days", so that he will meet minimal number of relatives. That day, he had a great chat with both aunts, discussing the features of various type of beds for bed- ridden folks. He must be making a very passionate point when this picture was snapped!
And what about me?? During this CNY Lynn ate quite a few pieces of fortune cookies at Grandma's house. She will show me excitedly the slips of paper telling fortune that she found in the cookies. But I didn't get to eat one in the previous few days. On this day, I finally ate one, and to my delight, I got one that says "Do what you like!". The message is very close to my heart, as I have been thinking of making some bold changes to my current lifestyle, to follow my heart. So I ask Lynn to take a picture of me kissing the cookie! Ha!!
(IV) Random pictures
Lynn choose the nice looking Mandarin oranges and wrote her initials on them so that we can't eat them!

(V) Finally, another yearly tradition: visiting Qiu Yun and WK's aunt on the weekend of CNY.

Another group photo that I will treasure for years to come!! How the kids have grown.
