Some priceless photos from Winny - CNY reunion photos of the Yap family, taken over 4 years.
2013
This year's reunion was at May's house. May moved into her Ghim Moh home for coming to a year already. Last year's gatherings (e.g. mid autumn and Christmas) were mostly held at her place. This year WK had asked if Winny can host it, but WK's mum requested for it to be held at May's home cos "her table's bigger".
2012
For 2 years in a row the reunion was held at Winny's place. She probably moved in sometime in 2010, cos the reunion in 2011 was held at her place, when Brayden's only a few months old baby (see pic below). Here in 2012, Brayden's one. I wonder when we will have new babies in family photos. The kids are all in red, angry bird T-shirts purchased at Hougang Central.

2010
Lynn is 3 years old in this pic. This was held at my place. I can't remember what we did for 2009 and 2008, but I remember this year well.
Firstly, WK mum and myself woke up at 6+ (or 7) to prepare for the lunch. We were busy all the way to about 1130 when the lunch started. I remember commenting to her that she must be tired doing all the cooking and preparation for 4 hours. She said that she's used to it already. But this was the last time she did all the cooking by herself. She conceded after this that it's too taxing for her at her age. May and Winny took over in the past 3 years. We did some kind of pot-luck, but I did not contribute much as I can't cook.
Secondly, WK's mum kind of started this tradition of having her grand children line up in front of her, to say something auspicious before giving them an ang bao. She did that for the past few new years. Winny gathered the 3 girls at a corner (near the entrance of the study room) and told each of the girls in turn to say something nice to her, starting with Mavis, then Mabel, then Lynn. Mavis and Mabel each said something, received their ang bao, said thank you and ran off. When it was Lynn's turn, when she was told to say something nice, her reply was "我不要!" and she ran off. She didn't know the "value" of Ang bao then. This year (at 6 years old), she is very excited about the amount in each ang bao and counted her money many times, haha..
