Dec'14 Update: Activity in the park

Lynn requested to go to a snowing country for our next family holiday.  WK used skiing as a reason to get Lynn to learn inline skating (we wanted Lynn to take up sports).

On 6th Dec, I took Lynn to Bishan Park for the trial class.  Last Sat, we got her a brand new set of skates, helmet and protective gears.  She will take lessons starting from Jan, but now she can already skate quite a fair bit.  On Christmas day, the 3 of us went Bishan Park for a short workout.

Love-hate relationship with technology.

Today is public holiday, suppose to be a off day from work. Brought the kids to the playground . While they are having fun, I am clearing office email from my phone, spying on MIL via foscam, and blogging now. Is this efficiency, or is this super stressful?

Blog book

(Written: Thursday, 27 Dec.  Scheduled: Sunday, 30 Dec)

So far, there were already 22 postings dated Dec, one more scheduled for tomorrow, and this one scheduled for Sunday.  I'm getting very tired, cos I had updated so many postings these 2 weeks.  I will have to postpone the update of Redang and Phuket to next year.

I find it difficult to sort through the tonnes of photos for these trips.  Nowadays, for the convenience of shoot-FB/blog, I usually just use my Iphone to take photos, choose a few good and representative ones to load into my postings with blogger app. Then I will fine tune the blog on computer if necessary.

Actually I have already selected 60 photos from 800 for my Phuket trip posting.  Took me a few hours (on off doing other stuff) for this process.  Then loading them into the blog and writing about the trip will take much more time.  I remembered it took me a few months time after I'm back from Perth to finally  complete my postings on that trip.

Anyway, I have found a "new" way of preserving my photos and memories, which is to print my blog.   Since I spend so much time choosing photos and writing about events, trips and thoughts on my blog, I'm going to print them so that it is like a super photo book.  Here's the 2008 book:

Sigh, the irony of having a blog

Hmm, I feel offended by blogger's new features. I don't really want/need to know how many people read my postings and which postings got read and on which day, etc. Maybe some people want this statistic. But for those of us who don't can we opt out? For friends reading my blog regularly, can you guys drop me a comment or fb message, so that I know who's still reading this? Sometimes I wonder when I "bitch" about GF, whether I over do it, cos ultimately the blog is a public space. OK, even if I know that there's lots of ex-chrt/current GF reading my blog, I will still try to be as candid as I can. Drop me a line please!

Blogger apps ; SRS acc

Reach DBS at 415, wanted to open a SRS account. Was told to wait 30 mins In the bank, cannot go out. Have finished reading my I book. Ever since got iPhone has read many iBook already cos very convenient to buy/download. Not much credit left to buy another book. Suddenly remembered Lydia telling me to download blogger ap. Searched, found and download with ease. Very similar with Facebook, can type, take photo or choose from photo stream. Decided to take one "big head shot". No longer young, no longer pretty. Took many shots finally choose one. They just called my name so its My turn now... Nice aps....

These were taken yesterday at tpy centre. Fetched her from school, went to bank her coins from her Peggy banks ( more than $500!) and then order cake for her bd celebration in sch. She was in extreme good mood, looking forward very much to our trip n her 5th bd.

Change

Most people resist change. I'm one of those. But I know that if one don't move forward, one actually moves backwards.

Anyway, most people will know that I've switched to the I Phone about 2 weeks back. The power of technology is something that I sometimes rave about in my blog. Because of I Phone, I have been posting more often on facebook. The upload photo function is very user friendly.

However, I'm still facing problem with my blog. I like blogging much better than facebook. Posting pic on blog is relatively easy using my sony erisson. I use bluetooth to download my pic to my laptop, and from laptop to blog (picasa).

Now with I Phone, I hasn't learn how to load pic to my laptop or blog. Need to get someone to teach me.

Anyway, these are the last few photos which I took using my sony erisson. It's tough to say bye bye... BTW, my first phone is an Erisson phone, back when there isn't camera function at all...

Friday morning, the CC which her school is located has decorations up for Halloween. I kept telling Lynn, that she's a "Halloween baby".

Saturday morning, took Lynn to TPY public pool for swim before her chinese speech and drama class. After the swim, she was hungry, and wolfed down 3 fish balls and one siew mai..

Lots of birthdays in Oct. Celebrated for my sis at Soup Restuarant on Sat night.

Back in Singapore. Right now, I'm one of those parents sitting at Toastbox at united sq, using their IPad, while waiting for their children's class to end.. Was being told by one of my colleagues that the wifi here very strong, so I gave it a try.
So far, how I feel after using it for a week? Well, it is indeed a powerful product. Although I'm not a "Internet" person, the convenient connectivity means I can blog easily. The one feature I'm totally sold on is ibook. Every trip I go, I used to buy a book to read. Last week I got WK to teach me how to buy book online. I found the book i wanted easily. Midway thro' the week I finished reading. So I went online and bought another one!
Ok, time to go fetch her.

Finally, I am converting. A few more month's time I will change my beloved sony-ericson for I-Phone. Right now, I am on a cab with wifi, in Atlanta US, writing this post with wk's I-pad. Took this along, so that I can do FaceTime with him and Lynn. The lure of the I, I'm in...

Hard copies of blog posting

Printed the first 10 pages of my earlies posts (May 2008). Deleted 2 albums in picasa, and gained 20MB of space. Looks like its going to take a long time to finish.

Too busy

I have lots of back dated postings to do, mainly on Lynn's BD and the Sentosa trip. Lots of photo.  I mentioned that I created a 2nd blog because of space problem (for photo).  I still encounter space problem, so until I resolve that (which needs time, cos i was thinking of printing my past postings and then deleting photos), I can't do any postings with photo..

Other than that, I'm just too busy..  Way too busy.  Every now and then negotiate with my boss on timing..  Told him that I've got 4 projects, so only 25% involvement for everyone of them. 

OK, its only the middle of the week, still got TONNES of stuff to do..  JIA YOU!!
