December Update - Christmas leave

4. Chrismas @ May's (22 Dec)
On Saturday night, we took the 9pm flight out of Penang.  Slept at close to midnight after washing up.  22nd December (Sunday) was a busy day, in which I have 3 appointments.

First up was a full month celebration lunch at Yishun.  At this age, I seldom get invitation for friends' baby full month celebration already; I really very happy for Tricia, who found her true love, got married and have a baby at a mature age.

Then I brought Lynn to May's home for our family Christmas gathering.  Lynn brought skin tattoo stickers (bought in Penang) for the cousins.

Lynn picked a small flower and a butterfly; Mavis picked a black butterfly
Mabel selected the biggest, the very striking jewel blue butterfly and had it on the front neck line!
WK's mum made Lynn a bracelet, which she keep placing on her head.  So I got her a black hairband, and turned the bracelet into a hairband for her!!

My sparkling nails for the holiday season!

5. Christmas tune (23 Dec)
I was on leave for the week of 23th Dec, but did lots of stuff (which I can't remember what) during the week.  On the evening of 23rd, Lynn absent-mindedly bit on a Yakult bottle and broke her already very shaky front tooth.  I couldn't stop singing.. "All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth, my 2 front teeth, is my 2 front teeth!!..."

24th Dec morning:

6. Chrismas Eve Dinner
Was in the mood for some fine dinning on Christmas eve, so we booked a 6 course western dinner at NUSS Guild house at Bukit Timah.  Again, I took the opportunity to dressed up, and tried on my new make-up.  Tried a new look - strong brows, but not successful (doesn't look good, need improvement).  However, Lynn didn't enjoy her spagetti.  Next time, we shall not bring her, ha!

7. Zoo on Chrismas Day
I was very surprised that Lynn requested that we bring her to the Zoo for the school holidays.  I'm not sure what's so interesting about the Zoo to her.

Saw all the same animals, took pics of the same animals, was tired by 2pm.  Here's a few selected pictures, that are without the animals!

8. Pasir Ris bungalow 28/29 Dec
In the final weekend of December, we stayed over at Pasir Ris bungalow.  As aunt Cindy and WS were both out of town, nobody organise BBQ.  So the main highlight was Pasir Ris Park, which has a very big children's playground.  Lynn was all by herself this time round, so Mummy me was her play mate at the playground.  Took some really nice pics with my Sony.

On Sunday, after check out, we went Ikea for lunch, and got free candy floss and popcorn.

Wow, what a December it was, no wonder I have no time to blog....

Family Renuion 2

This year's reunion dinner #2, with WK's family, was fun, due to the dress up and photo shoot session. Winny did 3 very good postings of the event, with lots of really nice photos. I enjoyed the gathering, the food, the atmosphere, well basically the day. Here's the links to her postings.

Here's a selection of some of my favourites, just to ensure that when I print my blog I have some photos of the wonderful day.

Can tell from these 2 pictures that the 3 of them look almost identical?
Macus and his 2 who look like him
What a good capture, so cute!
Look at their 酷 poses!
The photogenic couple; I like their look in this picture, oozing sweetness, that I think come from the anticipation of the little addition to their family!
Ha, the real reason why they are catching up with their additional family member - to recoup!

Lynn in her red cheongsum, me in my white cheongsum top, and WK in his new 五福临门 T-shirt

The "old" girls in the family, I must add, all looking so pretty!
Finally, the family photo

Here's some fun photos from my Sony, especially of the kids doing a line up pose which Winny couldn't capture a decent shot because of their monkeying around.

Family Reunion 1

Whenever being asked what's my renuion dinner plan, I always reply that I have 3 such dinners every year - one with my family, one with WK's family and one on the actual eve.

The first this year was on Sat, at NUSS. I seldom see Yin and her family, as we go about our busy lifes separately, and meet up and catch up like good friends during regular intervals. This year, I had a 5 to 10 minutes one on one time with Yin while the children played in the playroom after the dinner. She's so behind time when it comes to what's been happening in WK's family these few years, that it's kind of amusing.

As for her, I mean her children really, nothing seem to change in the past one year (Snake year). Joyce has grown up so nicely, and we all like her sweet, cheerful and polite personality so much. Anthony is still quite a brat; I really hope that he will grow out of this spolit and tantrum-throwning phase soon. It would be awful if it's permanent.

I was dressed up, cos I was toying with the idea of taking family photo, but ended up too lazy to do it (quite troublesome since we are in a restaurant). Here's some really cute photos of just the 3 of us and Mum doing some spontaneous poses.

Happy CNY!

It felt like I had been galloping non-stop for the past 2 months, until today, when I'm finally beaten by a flu bug that left sick for the whole of CNY holiday.  It started on Wed evening, with a terrible sore throat, that soon developed into a fever.  I felt it coming strong, so I quickly rushed to the GP to replenish the lozenges.  When I went to bed at 9 after taking 2 fever pills, I knew that my CNY eve plans will have to be modified.

Anyway, I will write more about my 4 days CNY (including eve) in a later post.  Today is D4 (Monday); a day when I get to wind down my extremely busy holidays season, with an afternoon visit to the same GP for cough syrup and some time to blog.

I must have a few hundreds of photos to post, and lots to write about.  Won't accompalish much today, so I will just start with some CNY home photos.

This year, we were not expecting any visitors.  Neverthless, I still decorate the house for CNY.  This year's 银柳 was placed behind the day-bed chair, thus giving the whole living room a different look from the previous years.

This year in the office, we DIY lots of decos, and this is one of the items I learned to make, from a crafts book belonging to one of my new colleague.

When I showed my colleagues the beaded accessories made by WK's mum, the exclaimed that she's very talented, so I took a few of her items to the office (fish, lantern, pig) to sell and generated $60 of sales for her!

This is again new this year!  The craze started off with a few colleagues buying hyacinth from Ikea during lunch.  They try to delay the growth by not watering them and not exposing them to light.  I told them it's useless.  Any way, the the plants bloomed, and they were beautiful and fragrant.  So finally on a Sunday (19th), I bought 2 stalks from Far East Floral, and this was how they looked.
They started to flower in less than a week, and this was how they looked on the 25th (Sat).
The one in the middle was my number 4 buy, purchased on the 25th from Lorong 1 market, as WK's mum wanted a red one.  The tall one on the right was one of the orginal purchase.
On Monday (27th) when I went back to office after the weekend, my 3rd buy (from Ikea on the 21st Tues) was fully bloomed, and it was a beautiful dark pink.

I took it home on Tues, 28th, and this was all 4 plants at different stages for bloom and decline.
My last purchase turned out to be light pink.  It started opening last Tues (the pic below), and it is still looking quite beautiful today.
CNY day 1, 31st Jan:

Finally, this is also new this year.  It's a bunch of 桃花 that I bought on the 28th.  It is still not opening yet, which WK's mum said "不懂会不会元宵才开"
