My favourite CNY
Happy CNY everyone. Typing this post in Malacca. Now there's internet connection at WK relatives' home, so all the youngsters can surf net, etc.
Many stuff happened since my last post on Jan 16. Was in Germany from 17 to 22st. Becos of this trip, there's very litte weekends to prepare for CNY. But of course I still manage my CNY deco, buy ba qua, go for CNY reunions, asked my dad to change new notes for me, prepare ang bao etc. The very siong part was Tues and Wed (CNY eve). Left office at about 8pm on Tue night, took a conf call at 10pm, stayed up till 2am to tidy the house a bit. Woke up at 630am, packed for the Malacca trip, and then took another conf call at 8am! Siong.. Left our home at 9+am, for Malacca. In the end, I slept for 11hours on CNY eve, from 9pm to 8am.
Lynn's having a really great time, cos her cousins are here too. They have been playing non stop since yesterday. It's really great, cos I have time to do my own stuff :)
Did I mention that kanna arrow to organise CNY dinner for my whole department? The event will be on 11Feb (Fri). It was quite an exprience, organising big scale (11 tables) dinner for office. Lots of fun, and also lots of issues/politics to handle.. sigh.. Anyway, will post more if I have time.

Mid January Update
January and December are always such a contrast. I've got about 10 postings in Oct, due to activities after activities, during the festive seasons. When January comes, the normal schedules return. This is especially so for Lynn, for the school going kids.
This year, she started staying in school till 5 pm everyday, so that she gets to participate in the evening activities. Her class teacher for last year (Ms Rama) had repeatedly told us that Lynn missed out on the art and craft activities as she goes home at 3 or 4pm. This year (K1), there's much more activities scheduled for the evening time, so we decided to align her timing. There's some resistance from WK's mum, which was expected, but resolved..
A small "episod" happened last week. Lynn missed school on Monday due to stomachache. She didn't want to go to school on Tuesday morning. I was very angry. We agreed to let her go to school later, meaning WK's mum will bring her, so we left for work. When I reached office, WK's mum called me to say that Lynn refused to go to school. I called WK and he just said that he will take care of it. Later part of that day, I found out that WK actually got off his bus, went home, and took Lynn to school. I was happy and greatful that WK did that. It was a message to both kiddo and grandma, that school's compulsory. I'm really glad that WK sent that strong message.
Lynn also started 2 more weekend enrichment classes. So other than her Sunday ballet, now she has chinese speech and drama class and art class at 11am and 4pm at the ZhongXiang HuiGuan at TPY. So far, all 3 of us are very happy with the classes (Lynn enjoys both) and the arrangement (WK and I). By rotating to bring her for the classes, we get a lot of free time for ourselves on Sat. I'm also very happy that Lynn watches a lot less TV on Saturdays.
As for myself, the first half of Januray had been the typical January for me: SUPER SUper busy, due to year end closing. And, I flying to Germany tonight.. for a week.. Sigh.. what else can I say, I'm so tired..

Most of my friends, and my sister, know me well, for my BD wishes are: good health, wealth, and beauty.. 37 years old.. When can I retire???

Happy new year 2011
Happy new year.. 3rd of Jan now..
2010 had been a very busy year for me; I will remember this year for a long time to come..
2011 will be busy as well, at least for the first half of the year.
What did I achieve for 2010? Can't really name any. Set resolution for 2011? Not tody, not anytime soon..
There's a lot of changes/growth for Lynn in 2010. A lot that I should blog about, but did not. In summary, she's no longer a toddler, and has grown into a little children. She starts to ask "why". She can reason and "justify". There was this day, when she wanted me to grant her an overnight stay at nanny's, that she told me "I have a lot of things to tell aunty-mummy. She will not hear cleary over the phone...". She say things we least expect, like yesterday when we were approaching Faceshop, she said "I want to buy nail polish!!"

Really looking forward to this for a long time, finally done with the "eldest brother and sister's responsibility" of helping younger sibiling along. I know WK appreciates my "contribution". I hope the younger sibilings appreciate too.

My own arrangements !!
One more post for today.
It had been a long time since I blog about flowers!! Oh I'm so excited and proud to blog about it right now.
Every year, its quite a headache buying gifts for different ladies in my department. Everyone's different; some are practical, some are "expensive".
This year, I came up with this "bright" idea, which is to buy flowers from Far East, and make 7 floral arrangements myself. I was way too confident. If not for a last minute twist, I would have failed badly.
I blog about Carol just not too long ago. She's the one who helped to put up a very beautiful wishing tree deco. I discovered later that she's very very good at gift wrapping too.
She SMS me over the weekend to ask if I have bought the laptop bag I've wanted. I told her no, and I knew she wanted to buy it as a Christmas gift for me. So I also told her about my plan, and ask her preferance for flowers.
On Thurs (23th) morning, I went Far East and bought flowers worth $156! I took them back home before heading for office. At about 5pm, Carol asked if she can come home with me to try her hands on arranging flowers too. I was overjoyed.
Like I said, I under estimated the difficulty. We stared at 7pm, and only finish at 1030! It was extremely tiring. But the results are fantastic! Some of them were delighted at receving this special gift. See pics:

Virgo Cruise Dec 2010
This is the second time I went on a cruise. The first time was probably 10 years ago, with Joc and Ginny. I can't remember which ship, but it went Langkawi.
It was 2 very different experience. I definately enjoy this trip more, cos I used more facilities. The other time, we were young and poor, haha, so didn't want to spend money on board. Also, we were young adults without kids, so the pools didn't interet us.
This time round, I was at the pool 5 times in 4 days. Because of Lynn of course. As WK was not well, we did not get off at Penang nor Phuket, so spending time at the pool with Lynn really helped to kill time.
Other than swimming (and eating at the inclusive, ie free, restuarants), we went Karaoke once (1 hour $60 !!!). This is Lynn's first time at K; unfortunately the system's faulty..
We spent a bit of time at the 7th floor wooden deck. We played silly games like running and jumping.
When we spend time in our cabin (stateroom, no balcony), she would climb up and down the bunk bed by herself. Lynn is actually a very active girl..
The embarkment and disembarkment were bad experiences. But now that we know the system, I really wish to go back on a cruise sometime soon. Somehow, I not really sure why, I enjoyed the cruise.
