More shoes!

Recently I went shopping at Diaso, and found a product that I've been looking for a long time.  It's a shoe rack.  Here's some pics to illustrate my new "investment"!!

This is my shoe cabinet, a floor to ceiling cabinet, with 10 shelfs.  I use 5 out of the 10 (pie say...).  I place my shoes in boxes, and print out pic of the shoes to label my boxes.  Those without pic are new shoes.

Out of the 5 shelfs, the top and the 5th are shorter in height.  The 3 rows in the middle are taller, and thus they are not fully utilised!

This is the product I got from Diaso - a shoe rack that is tall at one end and short at the other end. Here's how it works.

Step 1, place my tall platform below.

Step 2, place the rack over the platform, with the taller portion behind.  the rack sits nicely over the platform without squashing them.

Step 3, place another pair of shorter shoe on the top of the rack.  The higher portion of the shoe goes onto the shorter side of the rack.

This is another kind of rack.  This is the same size as a slim shoe box.

Here's the end result.  By investing $8 - 3 black double racks, and one pink single rack, I can place 7 shoes on a shelf.  Consider before, which is 5 or 6 shoe boxes on one shelf, I can increase capacity by about 15% to 20%!  Haha, time to get more racks and more shoes!!!

An evening at MacRitchie

Went there for dinner yesterday.  It didn't rain in TPY, but it obvious did at Machritchie.   The 2 pics below were out of focus, but I was trying to capture the cooling scene of water droplets on the flowers.

Our rhymes

The bridal shop at TPY central closed down, and the new shop taking over is renovating.  It's probably a shop selling food, esp french fries, cos the advertisement on the reno partition says "yellow yellow, cheesy fellow".  Lynn spotted it first, so proves that this is a catchy phrase.

One night, I passed by again, and a thought come to me.  I went home and told Lynn that's she's a "pinky pinky, naughty kitty".  She laughed, and she tried out some phrases.  She pointed to my top, and asked me what colour it was, which I told her maroon colour.  She didn't get any nice phrase with that colour.  Then she looked at my jeans, and finally got one that says "blue-y blue-y, stinky piggy", referring to me!

So here's our rhyme:
"Yellow yellow, cheesy fellow!  Pinky pinky, naughty kitty! Blue-y blue-y, stinky piggy!"

Wind in the hair

I enjoyed it greatly, and will like to bring my family too.  Here's some pic selection from my iPhone.

1) Marina at Keppel Bay, where we board our yacht.  This was my second time at here, the first was for dinner at the Japanese restaurant.

5) Here's a pic of the whole yacht (took this pic when we stopped at Island Seringat).  It's a very comfortable size yacht for 11 pax (it's maximum capacity).

7) On this beach, at first I thought these were just ordinary grass.  But when they hurt my feet, then I realised that they are mini cactus.

Walking to school with Erin and Faith

Two of the girls from the family of 5 kids next door study at the same school as Lynn.  Erin is P5, and Faith is P2. 

Erin came to our door the day before school start (in Jan), and asked if we would like her to take Lynn to school in the morning.  However, she goes to school very early (645); I never ask her why, I just assume she has duties to perform.  So we take Lynn there ourselves, at about 705.

Last week was school holidays, and Lynn had to be in school from 8 to 10 for chinese speech and drama class.  On Thurs, we meet Erin and Faith outside our homes, going to school too.  When we reach ground floor, Lynn wanted to follow follow them.  So I let her do so, telling Erin to help take care of her.

I went to get the car from the car park.  The path that I drive to work (my work place is at TPY Lor1) is the same path that the girls will walk to school.  I caught up with them when they were about 100m from the school gate.  I slowed down, stopped at the road side momentarily and whipped out my handphone.  I tailed them for a while, stopped again and took this pic of them when they were almost reaching the school gate.  Lynn's on the left of Erin and Faith's on the right.

It's a very simple and stright forward event, but I just can't describe the magical feelings when I watch, with anticipation and worry, of Lynn walking away from me to go to school without me...
